Swimming Pool Water is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and fungi because of the elevated temperature. That is why it is an absolute necessity to provide a disinfection installation. The most commonly used disinfectant for this application is sodium bleach.
In the event of a too acidic pH (< 5) the hydrogen hypochlorite or hypochlorous acid is converted into the toxic chlorine. For optimum operation of the hypochlorite, it is therefore important that the pH of the pool water is maintained between 6.5 and 7.
Why has the pH of swimming pool water the tendency to move to previous alkalinity (pH > 7)? By sweat, soap residues or possibly urine the pH of the water will rise. In addition, the used chlorine bleach is alkaline by the presence of sodium hydroxide (11<pH<14). Therefore, an acid must be added to again achieve the ideal disinfection area of the hydrogen hypochlorite. CO2 is a very suitable product for this.
CO2 can be used in any swimming pool where the disinfection is done with chlorine bleach.
The gaseous CO2 is dosed in the swimming pool water pipe between the pump and heat exchanger.
For decades, IJsfabriek Strombeek has been a point of reference in the field of CO2. In addition to the required CO2 we can also provide all equipment. Our team of engineers are ready with all their experience and expertise to help you organise your project.
